.IT Domains

Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building inventive and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with colleagues and pals. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information sector taking into account that IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the world.

Taking into account that dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administers this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be obtained through a third-party domain service provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can buy a dot IT domain for a period of one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. The only stipulation is that the person reserving such a domain has to be situated in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, considering that they can be registered only by locals.
